In your opinion, which would you prefer going to the gyme or buying your own work out equipment? Why?

I think I'd rather go to the gym. It takes a little longer to get used to, but I like having other people around. It helps keep me motivated. When I'm alone, it's harder for me to stay accountable to my routine. If you go to a small enough gym, you can really get to know some of the others who go there, especially if you do your workout at about the same time every day.

buy my own. i prefer doing things alone, easier for me to stay focussed. plus it saves a journey every day.

I think each option has its advantages. Rebecca and I just joined a fitness center and I think we're going to like it.

I'd prefer to buy my own equipment because it's quite convenient. And, there's a gym in my frickin' basement, so that saves a trip to anywhere. Nobody has to worry about transportation.
But I think it's a really good idea for those who need some extra motivation and just like to get out.

I would rather go to the gym cause there's lots of different equipments there. Everything you do is an option. Besides of having lots of equipments to choose from, you also meet lots of people there. Yes, its a hassle to pay, but nothing is free these days. As far as buying your own equipment, you can only buy one equipment at a time. If you use that equipment every day, it gets a little boring.

I really enjoy using both options. I am a member at a gym up town where the people are great and I get an extra boost since I can walk there, so it's like two workouts in one!
However, some days I just feel like staying in or don't have time to get to the gym so that's when I appreciate my weight bench and boxing bag. There's a lot of other things I can do at home also which is great! A variety keeps things interesting and fun! I love getting outside, but when I can't it's nice to know that I'm not missing out.

I own a stationery bike. I can't find time for the gym after work. And, I'm definitely not getting up any earlier than I have to to get there. If I had a gym within walking distance of my house that would be another thing. For the cost of a gym membership, you could own workout equipment that'll last a lot longer. I do apreciate having motivational partners, but I just don't have time.

I love going to the gym. I own a treadmill, but I like the fact that there are so many different options at the gym ... treadmill, stationery bike, eliptical, weight machines. It keeps things interesting. Plus I like the interaction with other people.

I have a bench, weights, dumbbells, etc then I have a pull up bar that I got on e bay for 20 bucks. It fits in a door way. I've had a gym membership too all of it is good just takes motivation to do either. I can walk in to my garage and do all of the above or schedule a ride or bus and go to a gym. just what ever you think would benefit you the most.

In the basement, we've got a treadmill, stationary bike, a bench, weights, and dumbells.
I only use the weights and dumbells.

I would personally perfer to buy my own workout equipment. The reason why is because then I can work out from the comfort of my own home. But then again, a gym could work too, because then I'd have a trainer. So yeah. there's my 2 cents input.

Yeah, a lot of people would prefer the company of trainers because they have little or no motivation at home.

I have no motivation to work out at home, but I love going to the gym, and chalenging myself. Plus, thhat $40 they deduct from my account every month is great motivation!

I prefer working out at home versus working out at the gym, because I have an almost 2 year old that would be hard to keep up with unless I have someone to watch her for me, which would cost extra money on top of the gym membership. Also, I would rather do things alone rather than with people, such as exercising. That way I feel more comfortable with it, and I will also be at home with my daughter and won't have to leave her with someone else. Also, sometimes my daughter and I go for walks together outside, so this exercise is good for us and I can teach her things about nature, let her play in the park near our complex, etc.
